Visitor Center, Albuquerque, NM
The project consisted in creating a visitor’s center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It is bringing together paths, views and people. The design attempts to create a space where people meet and gather before and after leaving on their adventure. ‘Converge’: come together from different directions so as eventually to meet. The convergence point is at the center of the site, formed by sitting areas, amphitheater and building façade. The landscaped roof is used to create shade but also used as an observatory on which one can climb to see the volcanoes.
